This December, ISDI students together with CIMSA Faculty of Medicine, Yarsi University, Jakarta, conducted an eco print workshop on tote bags and a seminar with ISDI students. This event went very smoothly and well, the parents and students of ISDI were also very enthusiastic in conducting the workshop and seminar activities. The entertainment provided also made the team from CIMSA FK Yarsi unforgettable. In the eco print workshop activity with ISDI students at the Center of Hope, it also increased insight + knowledge for ISDI friends in their work. In addition, ISDI students also had blood sugar, uric acid and tension checked. Then the parents held a seminar brought by the CIMSA FK Yarsi team with a Psychologist as the speaker. In the seminar, there was a lot of knowledge gained by the parents with a discussion about preparing for the development of Down Syndrome children by supporting their independence in the future. The parents also actively asked questions to the speaker. Wow... the event in December was truly extraordinary. Thank you CIMSA FK Yarsi for making this event fun, useful and increasing our insight + knowledge. |
ISDI (Ikatan Sindroma Down Indonesia or Indonesian Down syndrome Society) was formally established on 21 st April 1999. A non-profit support group of parents, medical professions, special-needs experts, teachers, and all of those who have deep concern.
We, as parents are very concerned of the future of children with Down syndrome in Indonesia especially when little is done to support them by the government or other non-profit organizations.
We so look forward towards a better future by sharing our experiences and supporting each other in our monthly gatherings. This way we gain knowledge and our children benefit from our experiences.
