3-4 December The International Day for the Handicap
13 November Fund raising - "Aku Juga Punya Nilai", a gala dinner with Performance by Down syndrome members of ISDI. t will be held at Hotel Mulia at night. It will be a first ever performance event done by people with Down syndrome in Indonesia to raise funds for building a DS Center.
September Biathlon (swimming & running). The annual participation of ISDI at the British International School charity event at their Bintaro compound. Interested members please register early at ISDI: 021-722-1888
9 September ISDI's Angklung will make its second debut at a member's birthday's celebration.
8 September ISDI's Angklung will make its debut at a wedding reception.
8-11 September The National Sports Day Competition for the Disable at GOR Ragunan.
22-23 August PORCADA (regional sports tournament for all handicap school youngsters) at GOR Kuningan. With total 500 athletes for athletics, swimming, volley ball, soccer, table tennis, badminton, bocee.
28 June 2006 Michael R. Yacub - 16 years old was honored by Down Syndrome Singapore when he was invited to tee off a golf charity tournament in Singapore. Michael together with his elder brother, Marco. was at the top 5 amongst 144 non-amateur participants.
It was a glourious day and moment for Down syndrome there and at home. Michael is the only Down syndrome golfer in Asia so far.
19 June 2006 Following the performance at the British International School's International Cultural Day, ISDI was invited to practise Angklung with Japanese Arumba (kolintang) group called Anggrek. It was held at Ibu Aryanti's residence. The result of this combination recital sol everyone exited and amazed. It was followed by pot luck lunch which serves the purpose of "friendship" performance.
16 June 2006 ISDI's angklung was invited to perform at the British International School's International Cultural Day. The audience was great and applauded the children cheerfully. The children was happy and felt proud to perform. It was their first angklung performance in public and hope to do many more in the future.

25 March 2006 Members gathering and open seminars for all. First topic on Tips on handling the most difficult Down syndrome child by Tan Shot Yen MD and Ratih A. Ibrahim, Psi, MM. Second topic on To Accept the Status of The Chosen Ones by Mr. Mark McClendon.
12 & 26 March 2006 ISDI and Family Dentistry collaborate to give free dental care and hygiene twice a year for members only. The facility includes cleaning and prevention called PROPHILAXIS (cleaning and fluoride treatment). We hope to introduce hygiene of the mouth to prevent bacteria accumulation and the fluoride treatment to strengthen teeth to avoid treatment for cavities, since dental treatment can be such a traumatic experience for children with Down syndrome.
11 March 2006 Charity campaign through GE volunteers, ISDI was privileged to assist in distributing 39 wheelchairs to the old, sick and handicap from the under privilege income section of the community. Last year, ISDI distributed 12 wheelchairs.

About Us

ISDI (Ikatan Sindroma Down Indonesia or Indonesian Down syndrome Society) was formally established on 21 st April 1999. A non-profit support group of parents, medical professions, special-needs experts, teachers, and all of those who have deep concern.

We, as parents are very concerned of the future of children with Down syndrome in Indonesia especially when little is done to support them by the government or other non-profit organizations.

We so look forward towards a better future by sharing our experiences and supporting each other in our monthly gatherings. This way we gain knowledge and our children benefit from our experiences.
